Welcome to the Transparency International Africa and Middle East Department webpage
Transparency International (TI) has 16 National Chapters, 5 National Chapters in Formation and 6 National Contacts working hand in hand with the Africa and the Middle-East Department. The department was created as a regional platform to exchange ideas and information, to bring together tools and resources being produced by individual countries, to organize regional workshops and seminars to facilitate the common goal of fighting corruption.
The Africa and Middle East department works as two sub-regional groups, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Despite their geographical proximity and the numerous economic, social and cultural ties between the two regions, the challenges posed by corruption in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and North Africa often differ dramatically.
| Please click on Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to read a more detailed introduction on the characteristics and specific corruption-related challenges in each of these sub-regions. To learn more about the work of TI in the region, please have a look at priority issues, projects and activities in the region, resources and publications developed by the regional department or national chapters, and regional news from the movement. |
