Commenting on the allegations of corruption linked to the resignation of Sir Ian Blair, Laurence Cockcroft, Chairman of Transparency International UK, the country’s leading anti-corruption organizations says:

“The position of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner is a high profile public position which demands the highest level of integrity. Allegations of corruption and related investigations can undermine the post. Transparency International UK look forward to raising with the new Commissioner, the issue of strong anti-corruption safeguards in the Met’s procurement procedures.”
